Southend networkers celebrate success of fellow member

Category: Networking

Release Date: 09/01/2017

Members of Southend ebn (Effective Business Network) were celebrating recently when one of the members, Career Ready, shared some exciting news.

Sarah Morton of Career Ready said: "Career Ready is a charity that helps young people prepare for work. We do this for two reasons - (1) to help students fulfil their potential, and (2) to ensure that businesses are able to recruit young people with the skills to succeed.

"Career Ready has recently secured nearly £70,000 worth of further investment from the Government-backed Careers & Enterprise Company's support for more young people in Stoke-on-Trent, the Black Country, London and Essex.

"The investment will help Career Ready to scale up its employer mentoring program and extend it to work with students who are about to start their GCSEs, but are at risk of disengaging.

"I would encourage anyone who wants to get involved in mentoring to step forward and join us, to help make a real difference to the lives of young people in their local community. For more information on Career Ready and the work that we do, please visit www.careerready.org.uk."

Group Director for Southend ebn Robert Hutchinson, of Hutchinson Financial Planning Ltd, said: "Our members meet on alternate Tuesdays at the Holiday Inn, Southend. We were delighted to hear Sarah's good news.

"The whole Group enjoys celebrating each other's achievements, and we wish Sarah and Career Ready continued success."

Managing Director of ebn Glenys Chatterley said: "Networking is about building relationships to help businesses grow and become stronger, and this includes celebrating successes with other local businesses."
