The aching limbs, blisters and hair-raising challenges didn't stop Glenys Chatterley (63), who was determined to face her fears and push herself in aid of the charity Farleigh Hospice.

Glenys, who is the Managing Director of ebn (Effective Business Network ), with the support of her friends, family, colleagues, and networking contacts, raised an incredible £15,000 for Farleigh Hospice.

Glenys decided to set herself a range of challenges to help raise the money for the charity which included wing walking, parasailing, kayaking, taking part in the London marathon, and even having a tattoo - just to name a few of the activities.

Farleigh Hospice is a registered charity which provides hospice care to people affected by life-limiting illnesses across mid Essex. Since being established in 1982, the Hospice, and its team of healthcare professionals, has grown and evolved to meet the changing needs of the community it serves.

Glenys said: "These were the toughest, yet most exhilarating, challenges of my life, but knowing the money that I was raising would make a big difference was the best part of all.

"I was determined to reach my £15,000 target, and to complete this in December has finished the year off perfectly. I would have walked across hot coals to get there - in fact, I did!

I'm so grateful to everyone who sponsored and supported me through my challenges, including the members of my networking Groups. Each of our ebn networking Groups supports a local charity; the members represent businesses based in the local community, so they want to support that community."
